Incredible, Amazing, Beautiful... Perfect :)

As a beta for this author I'm always excited to get the email that another book is ready for me to look at. This author just NEVER disappoints! I'm sooo in love with all her boys! The way her stories are told just draws you in until you lose all sense of time, of reality actually. You start reading and get lost in it. Which is what a reader wants.
First off I was so excited to see all the other guys.. I missed them! Red and Bull... Well they captured my heart in For a Reason.. And I was incredibly thrilled to have this wedding take place! Red needed to belong, to know that he was part of the Bull's family and that isn't going to be able to be taken from him now. I can't imagine the sense of peace and security that gives him. The wedding was perfect, the vows amazing! And the few surprises about the other couples... Love it! One of my favorite lines in this book... "This isn't the beginning of our new life together. It's just another step on the path we took a year ago". Sooo romantic!
I recommend this book.. This series to all who loves HEA's, that love a well written story that will take you away and make you feel as if you're a part of the Conner family as well!

This is a sweet ending to Bull and Red's romance. This was an unexpected installment spurred by the delighted author who witnessed a historical event in her lifetime: the legalization of Gay Marriage in the US and Ireland. Despite all the angst, it was finally accepted that indeed, two men or two women can and do fall in love and have the right to get married. Just like every other human being and dogs on this planet.

Bull asks Red to marry him and of course, Red says yes. Both men deserved their happiness and when they announce the good news to their friends, all were elated at the concept. Then the preparations begin and we catch a glimpse of what the other men think as well as the family members both attending and absent. We catch a glimpse of how their decision affects those around them as well. And of course, they go to Disney Land for the day and all. Sweet. Fun. Fast.

This is a make-you-feel-elated kind of book, one that sets the muscles to freeze on smile. Recommended for those who love Red and Bull (although frankly, I call them RedBull).

This was the wedding of the year!!! Thank you so much for the invitation to attend. Everything about it was beautiful. We have watched the relationship between Bull and Red become stronger with each story. To see this wonderful storybook wedding play out was touching, heartwarming and fun. I was so happy and couldn't wait to read it when I saw this story. It was great to see all the original characters in attendance so we have an idea of how they're doing. I loved this story, it really touched my heart. Thanks Jessie G., for the gift of good feelings I took away from this story. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS AFFORDABLE SERIES!!!!

What book the big names came out but the Wake-Robin Golf Club was a surprise. While a few were omitted there is more than enough to make up for them. A great read!!

An intriguing argument by mathematician Connes in this spirited conversation with neurobiologist Changeux is that a mathematical reality exists independently of the human mind. For example, he considers it improbable that the cosmic harmony of the Jovian satellites orbiting in consonance with Kepler's laws is a product of the human brain. Thus, although an understanding of the brain as a tool may lead to expanded knowledge, Connes denies that such understanding will alter mathematical reality. However, Changeux believes that the concept of an immutable mathematical reality is merely "the fascination that the created object exerts upon its creator," and he rejects the idea that a "totally organized mathematical system exists in nature waiting to be gradually discovered." Among various other fascinating ideas discussed is the role of the brain's limbic system in cognition, such as how the emotions aroused by a pleasurable hypothesis may serve as a guide to a solution. . . . another man's poison

It's taken me about a decade to finish reading this relatively short book. I'm a mathematician with a modest interest in philosophy, so I thought I'd find something worthwhile in this dialogue between a prominent mathematician and a prominent neuroscientist, but it just didn't click for me.

I have learned some things through this prolonged reading experience, though:

(1) Being a fly on the wall during an unrehearsed conversation between two intellectual heavyweights is overrated. Connes' and Changeux's thoughts are often disorganized, and when they disagree they usually seem to end up speaking past each other.

(2) People with profound knowledge in one field don't necessarily have a lot of deep insights to share when speaking outside of that field.

(3) If the final chapter is representative of the views of elite scientists, then scientism has a stronger foothold than I'd thought. In particular, I found Changeux's vision of science's role in the future of human society to be rather disturbing. If nothing else, this book was a good wake-up call, I suppose.

a pleasant surprise

There are many "dialogue" books of this sort, but personally I haven't read anything matching the brilliance of this one. The two men featured in this book, both true masters in their fields, represent two very different philsophical views, which become quite obvious immediately, yet they manage to engage in an intellectual dialogue free of the venom characterizing so much academic polemics nowadays, true to the spirit of those "pre-modern" French intellectuals, even reminiscent of Socrates & company. This is a minor masterpiece.

I like the integrated reading/writing format

I have used this book for a few semesters now. I like the integrated reading/writing format. I find the stories to be engaging, but they are in many cases too difficult for the level of students this book is intended for. The book is also too much to get through in one semester, so I would like to see a condensed version of it for a cheaper price in the future. Overall, I think it's a good textbook.
